Shapoorji Pallonji Finance Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai, is a part of the Shapoorji Pallonji Group of Companies. The company has been funding IBTADA (www.ibtada.in) in Alwar, Rajasthan to support women empowerment and entrepreneurship.

Objectives

To empower 2000 first-generation women entrepreneurs through micro-business initiatives. Shapoorji Pallonji Finance aimed at increasing the number of women's micro-entrepreneurship programmes in Alwar district, Rajasthan.

Scope of Work

To conduct an impact assessment study in 6 blocks in Alwar district, Rajasthan.

To understand the impact of the different programs that IBTADA has undertaken and recommend gaps as well as opportunities to scale up and replicate in the other villages.

To examine initiatives on backyard poultry, goat rearing, vegetable cultivation and micro-entrepreneurial activities in Ramgarh, Laxmangarh, Kishangarh, Thanagazi, and Umrain blocks of Alwar district, Rajasthan.

Project Execution

Collected data from 202 women entrepreneurs, 10 SHG leaders, 10 key community leaders and 2 project staff.

Conducted 6 focus group discussions along with 6 case studies.

Qualitative and quantitative analyses were done to understand the impact of the initiatives on household income, health, saving patterns and children's education.
