Empowering Women
Godrej Properties Women Empowerment
The Real Estate Industry, particularly in Urban towns is an employment provider to many at their construction sites. But this is a time bound engagement, mostly on contract, needing the labour to move from one site to the other. It was no different for this donor.
Engagement Objectives
To train talent, specifically women, outside the domain of pure construction labour work but within the domain of Real Estate management, offering them a more permanent destination from a Job security and satisfaction point of view
Scope of Work
To set the initiative's vision and create an industry first as we did with all female 2 - wheeler mechanics for HERO.
To identify & train eligible women from Delhi NCR and Mumbai.
To provide training on soft skills and basic financial literacy in addition to the core vocation.
Project Execution
Vocations such as plumbing, electrician, pantry staff and housekeeping were identified with the former two being an industry first for an all women program. The other twist and 'First' was that the potential employer was identified (at the design stage of the program) and the training and vocation-wise candidates were delivered based on their market needs.
200 women were trained across 3 vocations - plumbing, electricians and pantry management.
Elements, specific to industry needs, were added to the course material and practical training, hence making them work-ready from the initial phase of their joining.
